Second Time a Charm...
This review is for the replacement I received, as I had to send the first one back to Amazon. The first knife was, in effect, *not* a one-handed opener. Obviously, it's made for that purpose. You can also change it specifically to open with two hands. I was interested in the former and not the latter. The knife was SO difficult to open with one hand [via the thumb] that it caused pain, not just discomfort.
At any rate, the replacement is great. It is, as stated by others, not for someone who's looking for the easiest of openers. However, the second knife I received is definitely a one-hander.
The titanium frame has a great feel, looks cool and unique and the VG-10 steel blade is a quality that would be difficult to call 'weenie'. For a pocket knife, it's a massive feel, but not too big...great EDC for belt or pocket and fits great in the hand.
I use Leatherman products a lot, but this is my go-to knife now. alongside my Leatherman MUT as EDC on...
Simple Utility
It's going to be difficult to ruin a knife as simple as this. The sort blade makes it easier to handle in tight spots. It has enough of a point to open boxes. The titanium is nice because if I lay it on a hot manifold without thinking, I won't scald myself when I go to pick it up again. Nothing is loose. This was put together with close tolerances for something that was assembled in China. This knife isn't as large or as heavy as you'd think. It folds to the size of a credit card & the width is a little thicker than an old iPhone. I'm happy with it.
Finally
I've been waiting for months for this to become available again. Despite early reviews of the blade being wobbly when locked this knife looked like the daily workhorse I have been looking for.
I'm happy to report that the blade locks solidly.
Single handed opening is very easy.
Single handed closing is less fluid.
The blade is exactly what I was looking for.
This is a many times of every day type of knife. WIth my Mini Onslaught, I sometimes reach for a different knife cause I worry about blunting the tip or knicking the edge. Not this one. Seems pretty invincible.
