Moultrie Game Spy L-50

Moultrie L-50 GameSpy Camera

Multiple defective cameras
Purchased this camera and after only several single-night uses, it quit working. Took it back to the store where purchased and exchanged it for another. That one also quit working after only 4-6 single-night uses. Very poor customer support directly from Moultrie. Would not buy another of their products.
Wish it could use an A/C outlet
My only reason for not giving this unit 5 starts is because the only power options are batteries or buying a solar power pack. We use this camera close enough to power supply that we wish we could use an extension cord plug in with it to save on battery costs.

Moultrie Pro Hunter Kit

Worst Customer Service Experience Ever
I was given a Moultry Feeder last year for Christmas as a gift while I was attending college. I was unable to hunt at this time and just recently setup the feeder for this year. I set the clock and used new batteries for the clock and for the motor. I filled the feeder with 200 # of corn and the motor spun once and locked up. I dumped the feeder thinking the corn was not clean enough and jammed the motor. I replaced the batteries and still the motor remains locked. Currently the hunting season is half through and my feeder is again filled with 200 # of corn in the woods.

I have sent two emails and been on hold for 6+ hours altogether with Moultry's Customer Service department. No one will respond no matter what time of the day I call. I have spoke with operators who assure me that there are 20 customer service representatives that are servicing calls. I have tried talking to these representatives and they will not put me through to anyone, they place me on hold...
Timer malfunctioned after 1 month in the field.
This feeder was easy to put together, and functioned well for the initial month or so. Then the timer malfunctioned and it won't spin for more than a second, regardless of settings/programs. Customer service from Moultrie has been simply non-existent, both by telephone and email. (If anyone has a helpful suggestion, pls add a comment here...)
Best FEEDER KIT on the market
After almost 20 years of using deer feeders, I have been through my share of feeders and feeder kits. Moultrie has finally come up with a feeder kit that is so user friendly that i feel I could send my 11 year old daughter in to check and/or change any feeder I have and she could do it with ease. I believe also with the template sent with the unit that she could also mount the feeder to any barrel. I have 27 feeders up and they are all Moultrie Pro Hunter feeders, and unless Moultrie comes up with something better, I dont see ever changing to anything else. I would reccommend this feeder to any hunter, whether they are as serious about hunting as I am or just someone that wants a good feeder system for the price.

Moultrie Camera Security Box

Moultrie Security Box
My camera is secure now. I love my GameSpyi60 camera and had it out there for anyone to take. Now that has all changed. The box is great.
There are two options:
1) You can mount the box directly to a tree. It comes with the screws and you should probably buy a better lock than what comes with it. (like the Titanium Series Reinforced (Masterlock Product 185D)
2) (This is the option I chose) Buy the swivel attachment, which gives much more flexibility of pointing the camera around). With this option the swivel mount comes with an extra backing that is part of this security box. So you will have an extra. Going this route I have used a python lock which wraps around the tree and my hack saw resistent lock to secure it.
I guess the bottom line here is that you will need extra accessories with option 2 if you truly want it secure or close to as secure as you can get.
I used the heavier duty masterlock python since I had a bigger tree to put it on. And...
It's a universal box...so don't expect a custom fit. Throw lock and cable away upon arrival.
The first thing I want on record is that this is a universal box...so if you're looking for a custom fit, you will be sorely disappointed. I purchased this for a Moultrie I-40 trail camera and I experienced what many other did. The camera didn't sit right in the box and the camera box doesn't come with parts to tailor the box to the camera being protected. To get a custom fit, I went to a local auto parts store and found two auto trim panel retainers to stick into the box from the back and the hollow legs of the camera fit right into the retainers. Then I went to a hardware store and purchased a brass bolt, some washers, and some spacers. I removed the vertical adjustment knob, drilled a hole in the box to line up with the threads of where the vertical adjustment knob was, and with the brass bolt, spacers, and washers, secured the top of the camera to the box. Then I ran the strap that came with the camera through the cut-outs in the back of the box and the camera fits in the...
Trail Cam Security
The moultrie security box is exactly that! I feel confident that my trail camera will be there every time I go to it. The metal is quality and protected by a quality paint-job. The only thing I recommend is an additional heafty lock, or Master Lock Python.
