GRE PSR-700 Ezscan Radio Scanner w/ Built-In Frequency Database on a 2Gb Hd Mem Crd

Great scanner for beginner, or someone on the move.
First, this scanner is not digital, so if you are looking to monitor a P25 digital system this is not the scanner for you.

The PSR-700 is the newest scanner in the line from GRE America, it holds the entire Radio Reference database on a 2GB SD card. The database is updated once a week for anything new in the RadioReference database. For anyone that is familiar with scanners, and the normal bank/channel system, this is a complete change. The PSR-700 is a object oriented scanner, which means that each frequency you have is an object, and can be added to a scanlist. A scanlist is equivalent to a bank on a more conventional scanner, the only difference is that you can have any number of frequencies in a scanlist. What makes the PSR-700 favorable to people that move around is that when you set up a group of frequencies to scan, you are not wasting space on a bank because you have 20 frequencies in a bank of 100. I tend to keep things organized by county, so each scanlist...
GRECOM PSR-700 EZ Scan-SD Trunking Scanner
I bought this as a replacement for my old Uniden BC95XLTB scanner. The old one was fine until the local police and fire agencies went to a trunking system. I could still listen to most of the fire and police calls, but I also had to hear public works and public transportation communications. Another issue came up everyday, somewhere around midnight, where I would have to lock out one channel to get rid of a constant noise signal, and then unlock the noise channel from the previous day.

The PSR-700 fixed these problems and more. It provided me the option to remove the public works/transportation transmissions and eliminated the need to lock/unlock channels every night. Also, with the free RadioReference.com library updates, I'm now able to easily use this scanner in other areas. For example, I set up scan lists for the places I often visit and I can easily select them when I'm on the road. With the old scanner, I had to research the frequencies and manually type them in...
Compact, Solidly-Built Scanner
The PSR-700 is a solidly built, very compact scanner. Since I had experience programming my Uniden BCT15X base scanner, I chose to program my PSR-700 via its desktop software. It only took me about 15-20 minutes to put my scan lists together, even including the custom alpha tags I created. I had the database downloaded to the SD card and the scanner up and running within a minute or two. This little scanner really does a great job of pulling in the signals. Even with its small antenna, it pulled in the signals almost as well as my base scanner that uses an outside antenna. The PSR-700 also scans quicker than my base scanner. I am very pleased with the GRE PSR-700 and highly recommend it.
