Does the job.
Got this next to the bed. Be warned, it does not come with a a/c adaptor. Get yourself some rechargable AA's. Works as advertised to keep your piece in a safe place. The light inside is bright enough, especially in a dark room. I've had it a couple of months now without changing the original batteries I put in it. Recommended.
This is a good vault overall...

As another reviewer said, it's slanted, which can be a bit of a pain for a guy with big hands trying to get a firearm out in the middle of the night, but so is the gunvault and every other version I've seen. Also, the buttons are stiffer than the gunvault model, and the other reviewer is correct that the gunvault's hand print style is a little easier to deal with, especially at night in the dark. These are designed to keep loved ones from getting to your firearm and having an...
Good price but doesn't hold much
The battery compartment takes up a good portion of the safe, and comes with the wrong thumbscrews to hold it closed. This makes it useless for most applications. I can just hold a small handgun in there and the battery compartment. Also, since the compartment doesn't stay together (wrong screws), you better keep the key handy, so much for easy access.
