Quality mount for the $$$
I'm not sure what the guy who gave it 2 stars was thinking but its very simple to operate. Just twist the mount to one side and it rotates over and down slightly so its out of the way. You can mount this to rotate either left or right for those who are worried it will get hit by spent brass. It securely locks in place with no wiggle or noticeable movement when firing. I also have the VMX3 and compared to the much higher priced magnifiers I didn't see enough difference to justify more than double and in some cases triple the price when comparing the VMX3 to other brands. I plan to buy another swing mount/VMX3 combo from Vortex.
Best I have found yet
I wanted a swing out mount for a magnifier for some time now. I just didn't want to spend the money that Aim-point wants for just that item. I purchased 2 different models from Amazon from other makers that proclaimed their mount was worth the investment, and if you have read any of my reviews you have seen that I was not happy with ether of them. I kept passing on the Vortex because of the price. I own the Vortex Strike Fire red/green dot site and I could do a whole review on this item alone and as you can tell, I love this site. Amazon does sell this site here and I highly recommend this site for both recreational and duty use. Well I got the site mount the other day and put it on my self built AR15 and I should kick my own butt for spending the money on the other two mounts and not getting this one the first time. there is no movement when in the locked spot and that was the big downfall with the 2 other cheaper ones that I got.

Vortex Swing mount
This swing mount works great on my AR-15. It swings easily and snaps into position. You don't have to worry about it moving when you don't want it to. With the quick release lever mounting it to your rail couldn't be easier. I would recommend this product to anyone who is looking for a versatile magnifier mount.
