Impressive
I just got this about 30 minutes ago. I gotta say I am very impressed. This is a heavy duty blade with a full tang and a solid wooden handle. I am going to wrap it in leather to make the grip more secure and give it a better grip. I have long fingers and this will make it more comfortable to use. It has quite a bit of weight too. It arrived well packaged and nice and sharp. I am thinking that this would take down small trees easily. In addition, I have a Western Bowie Knife that is also good for chopping down small trees, but this has a longer reach. I am really looking forward to using it.

Unlike many using this thing for the occasional camping trip; I actually live in the forest and camp every weekend and need a heavy duty chopper for clearing sites and general slashing chopping fun. This thing has lived up to my exact expectations and more, I've used it HARD for the past week just about daily and it still hasn't lost it's factory edge.
It splits logs like nothing, it limbs plants fantastically, and it chops half foot diameter trees down like it's their daddy. The 1075 spring steel is incredibly strong. Wont hold as sharp as an edge as 1095 but boy howdy is it stronger. If you want a machete that you need for heavy duty work and you want it to outlast your entire life and probably be passed down for ages? This is the tool for you.
Condor has been around since 1785 and they make quality tools. Also, some reviews have said the wood pummel on the end can break off from the force of hitting. Well that's no longer a problem, Condor now designed a 100%...

I have been using machetes all my life. From Central Florida to Central America . This is the best one I have ever used , or even seen for that matter. The thickness of the blade and the curve at the end of the handle make it very useful for clearing trails or overgrown properties . The sheath just takes this purchase over the top , and will make you think you are a pirate hacking his way to treasure . Unless you have no imagination at all, then you would probably just admire the workmanship .
P.S. I dont know why some of the reviewers are talking about the fit of the sheath , it fits perfect . Slides in and slides out just like it is supposed to.
