Cynical and Skeptic
After losing two deer from a combo of poor blood tracking skills and nightfall, I had pretty much written off evening hunts. Picked this up day before yesterday. Last night, hit a doe at 7:00PM and she ran. Gave her 40 minutes while I went to the truck for this light. 5 stars! The combo "red and green" really turns the blood a neon red. The "all green" turns it pitch black but I was not as comfortable with that. Long story short, I trailed her 300 yards with nothing more than a few pin-drops every 5 feet or so. Took 3 hours but I'm sure I never would have recovered her last night without it. Kudos
Save your money
First off this isn't a knock on the company that sells this product. They shipped it quickly and it arrived within three days of ordering. Now for the light itself, well I would suggest not buying into the hype like I did and just go buy yourself a nice flashlight. The bloodhunter function is ridiculous. Shot a buck this evening and after twenty minutes of frustrastion I switched it over to the regular flashlight mode and was able to track much easier. Yes red looks somewhat brighter, but nothing glaring or worthy of the price you pay. Also the function really only helps if you are tracking on land that isn't covered in pine straw or red oak leaves. This is because all reds look brighter and on pine straw and oak leaves you'll constantly be guessing yourself as to if you have actually seen blood or the red of the leaf.
Great Little Light
Great little Light, Light weight, well made, Takes three double A batteries. Track that deer down when the sun sets or help you light the way to and from the stand. The one item that is always on my belt loop for a afternoon hunt. Helps you find blood trails when with out this light might really be hard, like wet oak leafs can fool you.
