Trackit Costa Rican GPS maps - Excellent
We just returned from a 2 week trip to Costa Rica. We traveled to San Jose, Arenal, Monteverde, Carara, Jaco, Quepos, Manuel Antonio, Sarchi, Cartago and many points in between. The Trackit GPS map for Garmin was our savior. The accuracy was amazing whether we were in a city/town or the countryside. It never failed to get us to our location. As you may know, streets and roads most often are not identified. Building locations usually do not have a numbered address. The Trackit maps were able to work through this and direct us to the proper location each time.
Trackit's customer support is also excellent. Prior to departure, I had some questions about how to use Trackit. Representatives provided needed information to make me feel much more comfortable. When we arrived in San Jose, we had trouble with our Garmin recognizing that it was in Costa Rica. We contacted Costa Rica based Trackit representatives who worked with us to resolve the problem with our Garmin unit. A GPS is...
Great product
I purchased this two weeks before leaving for Costa Rica. We drove all around the country, starting in San Jose, then to the East coast to Limon, up north to Monteverde, down South to the beaches of the Pacific, and back to San Jose. We never had a problem with the GPS getting us where we needed to go and the time was very accurate. Only a few places in the Monteverde area where the roads are all rock where there a few detours that were recommended by some local tourist info booths.
Overall this was great and finding out the GPS coordinates of your hotels is even easier. Most places have them so entering them in can be easier than searching by address.
Also, this worked as soon as we got outside the airport. Inside there was a weak signal and the maps wouldn't come up, so I was nervous I'd have to call customer support. But, while we waited for the rental car shuttle, it loaded up and was a better investment than the rental car's $10/day unit.
Life Saver Product
I bought this to use in my Nuvi 600 and it performed flawlessly throughout our entire 2.5 week driving trip. It would even show gravel roads that I am pretty sure even the local goats did not know existed. Got us in and out of some very convoluted driving situations without a hitch. Just don't try to out think this chip and you will be fine. Highly recommended, quick to adjust your wrong turns (we all make them.) Using the lat/long is a dream, often the best way to work this in Costa Rica as road names are few once you get off the main travel roads. Most places you will want to visit can provide lat/long so this makes traveling sooooooo very much easier. Enjoy your trip more with this chip!!
